PV Solar Flat Roof Mounting System – BallastBox for PV Modules

The BallastBox flat-roof mounting system allows for the secure installation of photovoltaic modules
on flat surfaces—without any drilling or damage to the roof membrane. Ideal for
flat roofs made of membrane or bitumen, terraces, garages, lawns, and all surfaces with a slope of ≤ 5°.

With its large base area, durable recycled PE-HD material, and the option for custom filling at
(sand, gravel, soil, concrete), the BallastBox offers a durable,
stable, and flexible solution for residential and commercial PV systems.

Load & Filling

The BallastBox can be filled in a variety of ways:

  • Sand: 156–195 kg → Maximum surface load: 676 kg/m²
  • Gravel: 180–195 kg → Maximum surface load: 676 kg/m²
  • Soil: 156–195 kg → Maximum surface load: 676 kg/m²
  • Concrete: up to 325 kg → maximum surface load of 1091 kg/m²
  • Stone / Metal: also possible

In the worst-case scenario, a PV module (18–25 kg) is distributed across two boxes:
25 kg / 2 + 4.5 kg = 17 kg net weight per box.
